FIVE GOLDEN RINGS!!

In economics today, we had to look up the total cost of giving the gifts from the song the 12 Days of Christmas. I found this article on MSN Money and could hardly believe it. From the pear tree to the twelve drummers, True Love would have spent more than $65,000 last year. See for yourself:

Who wants three french hens anyway? And twelve drummers would give me a migraine.
Good thing, considering my true love has yet to make an appearance.

The Twelve days of Christmas were to remind the Catholic Church parishners of the Twelve tenants of their faith, I've heard. Or something along those lines. They couldn't say the real prayers out loud for fear of being overheard so this song was invented to mask the real intent. Love, Dad

I came across the original correspondence that accompanied the giving of the gifts in the 12 Days of Christmas. Definitely an enlightening read. You can find it about half way down the page at the following link: http://www.cvc.org/christmas/12days.htm
Enjoy!
